🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Express Anger About Sizing Modifications Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments but did not contact all users about the change. Digital Channels Backlash Countless users and merchants have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration. The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Changes Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Accounts A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
