The Reform UK leader Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
