🔗 Share this article The Game UN:Me: An Cerebral Thriller That Blends Survival Horror and Social Deduction Mechanics The latest Day of the Devs digital showcase revealed several intriguing upcoming titles, but one especially has seized attention: UN:Me. Developed by Historia and Shueisha Games, this solo experience appears to fuse together the oppressive atmosphere of a Silent Hill title with the suspicion-driven core of Among Us. "It's a distinctive game where a young woman containing several personalities inside her needs to flee from a labyrinth of the mind," explains producer Yasukazu Kawai. Entering a Shattered Consciousness In UN:Me, players take control of an unnamed female protagonist who appears to be of high school age. Inside her exist four distinct souls, each with unique anxieties and drives. These entities can seize control at will, unleashing their deep-seated terrors upon her suddenly. Judging by revealed gameplay, much of the narrative takes place within a creepy medical facility, while other scenes depict the main character exploring a desolate church. An Environment of Individual Dread "What makes you afraid of? What makes you uneasy?" poses creative lead Shun Sasaki. "Heights. Confined spaces. Authority figures. Things that seem trivial to others can trigger a deep instinct inside us. This game explores that concept — fears that are unique to each person." The core mechanic revolves around controlling the persona that surfaces at any given moment. However, these souls will change involuntarily during gameplay. While exploring, every persona's anxieties become exaggerated and attack the protagonist in succession. As the persona shifts, so does the specific fear the player encounters. Eerie Visuals and a Deadly Choice At first glance, UN:Me shares striking aesthetic parallels with the Silent Hill series. The setting is populated by orderlies who all share the identical visage, with disturbingly broad smiles. Patients in the lobby have enormous blooms growing from their necks are. Floral motifs are a recurring element, juxtaposing natural beauty with supernatural dread. Yet, UN:Me presents a singular twist. Players must determine which of the four entities haunting the heroine is the "real" one. "All four souls asserts that the body is rightfully them," notes a creator. "Throughout the game, you must determine who is real." Once players have deduced a soul is an impostor, they are forced to destroy it. However, since every entity can lie or hide the truth, it is incredibly simple to choose incorrectly. "Perhaps you've already eliminated the real [soul] with your own hands," a voice suggests. "The last one standing might be a fraud. Either way, your choices are final." UN:Me does not yet have a publicly announced launch window, but it is available to follow on digital storefronts.
